You could see the trust and the strong bond between the two of you. You could also see that Bowie knew what to do and use his instincts. You both rocked it off the map. It will be great to see how it goes next time.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13350495178667495599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3742575866265031167.post-9422035185495655182014-08-01T18:18:56.137-07:002014-08-01T18:18:56.137-07:00Thanks for the clarification Silvia. I guess that's why they call them "Boarder Collies" always on that edge :)Marjoriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18223031730187915195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3742575866265031167.post-58562813717886238502014-08-01T13:49:08.757-07:002014-08-01T13:49:08.757-07:00Pressure can happen even if the dog is trained and...Pressure can happen even if the dog is trained and treated with positive reinforcement. For example a dog who wants to access the treat, but doesn't know how and doesn't have enough information. It can create frustration and frustration outbursts sometimes seen with shaping when the person sets criteria too high. You can also see dogs sometimes getting discouraged. So, it's a fine line to challenge a dog, and asking too much. silvia4dogshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06754651331524490306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3742575866265031167.post-14721476606800691522014-08-01T12:44:03.800-07:002014-08-01T12:44:03.800-07:00Yes Marjorie, pretty much stress but not the kind ...Yes Marjorie, pretty much stress but not the kind that has a detrimental, long-term fallout. Stress can increase the bond between dog and owner, when they master a challenging situation together. The challenge for Bowie was self-restraint, and as said, at times I felt we were close to the limit, but didn't surpass it. silvia4dogshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06754651331524490306noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3742575866265031167.post-35161697072068376982014-08-01T11:17:13.611-07:002014-08-01T11:17:13.611-07:00Interesting post Silvia. You mentioned "pressure" several times in the post and I was wondering if you could explain "pressure" a bit more. I suspect you might be talkng about stress, but it sounds like it could be good stress boarding on bad stress? I'm not quite sure.Marjoriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18223031730187915195noreply@blogger.com
